The Polar Challenge, Labeled the World's Toughest Race, started on the 13th April 2004. Seven teams of amateur arctic explorers raced the 350 miles, pulling 120lb sledges of supplies and equipment. Competing against each other in the harshest of conditions the teams raced from Resolute Bay in the Canadian North West Territories, around the many islands forming the Queen Elizabeth Island chain to the Magnetic North Pole. Only two teams completed…

Having won the first ever race to a Pole in 2003 Chris went onto captain Team Fujitsu in the 2004 Polar Challenge! Chris had the added challenge of integrating Seamus Hogan, a volunteer member of the public into his team, only five weeks before the race start! The Teams experience featured in the award winning BBC2 “The Challenge” documentary. His story is one of incredible teamwork, stamina, courage and determination; the thrill of a close encounter with a Polar Bear, their daily battle with the frozen ice fields and the danger of frostbite in temperatures, which with wind-chill, sometimes dropped as low as - 65 degrees C. Team Fujitsu won the race by only two hours! Chris’ focus is on creating and leading a high performance team in the harshest environment on earth. He has won praise from many clients for his outstanding presentation, which is augmented by gripping footage from the ice.
